Case Study - Road Traffic Accident

Case Study Type – Road Traffic Accident
Solicitor involved – Frances Fitzpatrick
Location – Bangor

Alice was involved in a serious road traffic accident, which left her with significant physical and psychological injuries. Initially, the third-party insurers offered £15,000 as a settlement, but given the extent of her suffering, we advised against accepting this figure.

Following this, we initiated High Court proceedings to seek a more substantial compensation. The defendants' solicitors responded by increasing their settlement offer to £40,000. Despite this improved offer, Frances recommended that Alice reject it, as it still did not adequately reflect the impact of her injuries.

In the lead-up to the hearing, the defendants ultimately raised their offer to a more satisfactory £60,000. This final settlement greatly pleased Alice, as it not only provided a fair resolution to her case but also spared her from the need to go through a potentially stressful court hearing.
